BAKING CONTEST
Love to show off your baked goods? Are you interested in winning a prize and earning a blue ribbon? Here at the Michigan State Fair we have our Baking contest and other baked goods contests!
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
-Do not have to be an exhibitor
-Open to Adults and Youth (non-professionals)
NO ENTRY FEE – Must pay admission to the fair.
ELIGIBILITY OF EXHIBITORS – Michigan Residents Only
1. Adults – Open Class. Twenty-one (21) years of age as of January 1, of the current year.
2. Youth. Seven (7) years of age through twenty (20) as of January 1, of the current year. Must be a Michigan youth.
3. Exhibitors must be non-professional.
-An amateur is a person who does not sell for profit on a part or full-time basis and whose exhibit represents a recreational hobby.
-A professional is a person engaged in activity for a monetary profit of more than $2,000 annually as a result of his or her craft and/or cooking skill.

Judging Criteria: 40% Appearance, 40% Flavor, 20% Texture
Entry Requirements:
Cakes and Cupcakes must be made of KING ARTHUR FLOUR
Attach label from King Arthur flour to your typed recipes
Bring Cake (1, one, Adult) and Cupcakes (4, four, Youth) the day of the contest, Sunday, September 3rd, 2:00 PM
Limit One entry per person
No mixes
No pre-entering
There will be prizes for both age groups!
Cookie Contest--Adults & Youth
Saturday, September 2nd at 11:00 AM
Adults -21 years and older & Youth- 7 through 20 years
Sponsored by Guernsey Farms Dairy
$400 in prize money
Judging Criteria: 40% Appearance, 40% Flavor, 20% Texture
There will be two (2) categories
Decorated Cookies and Non-decorated Cookies
Entry Requirements:
Prepare your own unique Cookie:
Limit One entry per person in each category
Exhibitor may enter in both categories
No mixes
No pre-entering
All Entries must be the work of the exhibitor
Bring five (5) Cookies, the day of the contest, (Saturday, September 2nd at 11 AM) any size, shape or style.
There will be prizes for both age groups in both category.
Top 3 placings in each category, both age groups, are asked to leave cookies for public viewing.
