MICHIGAN STATE FAIR
BEGINNING OF LIFE

Cute, cuddly and adorable are just a few words that describe the residents of the Beginning of Life young animal nursery exhibits.  As the Michigan State Fair has been revived and reimagined, we are bringing that spirit of reinvention to this exhibit.  Unlike many State Fairs across the country that attempt to pre-plan livestock breeding schedules in order to have live births occur during their events, it is the belief of our Livestock Management experts, after years of observation, that this practice is often very stressful for the mother and her babies.  With the health and well-being of the animals being of foremost concern, the Michigan State Fair prefers to feature baby animals that have been born recently, who are old enough and mature enough not to be stressed by the Fair experience. We hope that you can stop by and say hello to these “new kids on the block” when visiting the State Fair.
